Bologna Stuns Lacklustre Napoli with 2-0 Serie A Victory

Bologna secured a 2-0 victory against Napoli in Serie A on Saturday, as last season's champions endured a lacklustre performance, extending their winless streak to five games. T

 

he visitors wasted no time in asserting their dominance, with forward Dan Ndoye breaking the deadlock in the ninth minute with a close-range header, swiftly followed by defender Stefan Posch doubling the lead just three minutes later after a corner.

 

Despite Napoli being awarded a penalty shortly after, with Bologna's Remo Freuler fouling Victor Osimhen, their hopes of a comeback were dashed as Bologna goalkeeper Federico Ravaglia denied Matteo Politano's low shot, preserving the visitors' clean sheet.

 

With this win, Bologna temporarily climbed to third place in the Serie A standings with 67 points, surpassing Juventus who are set to face relegated Salernitana on Sunday, while Napoli currently occupies the eighth position with 51 points.
