Betsy Obaseki Women Football Tournament enters semi finals

The 3rd edition of the Betsy Obaseki Women's Football Tournament has advanced to the semifinal stage following four quarter-final matches in the competition.

At the Uniben Sports Complex in Ugbowo, Delta Queens defeated Nasarawa Amazons 3-1 in the second quarterfinal.

In the first quarterfinal match, also held at the Uniben Sports Complex, Ugbowo campus, Bayelsa Queens triumphed over Ekiti Queens with a score of 4-1, securing their place in the semifinals.

Over at the Western Boys High School Mini Stadium, Edo Queens narrowly edged past Heartland Queens with a 2-1 victory, while Remo Stars Ladies defeated the tournament's defending champions, FC Robo, with a score of 3-1, earning their spot in the semifinals as well.

In the upcoming semifinals scheduled for Monday, Edo Queens will face off against Remo Stars Ladies in the first match at 4pm.

The Edo Queens vs. Remo Stars match will be a rematch of their intense group stage encounter, which Edo Queens won 2-1 with Suliyat Abideen converting two penalty goals.

The second semifinal, between Bayelsa Queens and Delta Queens, will also take place at 4pm at the Uniben Sports Complex, Ugbowo campus on Monday.
