Bendel Insurance FC of Benin might have created a record for themselves in the 2022/2023 Nigeria ProfessionalFootball League (NPFL) and Federation Cup
The team is gradually loosing its grip on achieving a domestic level with the latest 1-1 scoreline against Enyimba FC.
Bendel Insurance on Wednesday held on to thier perfect unbeaten record following the 1-1 draw against Enyimba in the Match Day 3 of the ongoing 2022/2023 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Super 6 play-offs at Mobolaji Johnson Arena (formerly Onikan Stadium).
The Benin Arsenals coming to the Match Day 3 needed at least three points against the eight-time league winners, Enyimba International FC of Aba.
This was not to be as Bendel Insurance had to fight back from one goal deficit to level through their inform striker, Divine Nwachukwu, who produced a brilliant header in the 37th minute after a clever assist from Imade Osarenkhoe.
Enyimba FC of Aba drew the first blood in the 23rd minute with Ismail Abubakar firing a fantastic long range effort to put Enyimba in front at 1-0.
The rest of the match was busy for the goalkeepers of each half, Olorunleke Ojo of the People's Elephant and Amas Obasogie of the Benin Arsenals.
A win for Enyimba FC on the other hand would have been a shot at assurance for an automatic spot in CAF continental games, but the Finidi George-led team fluffed the chance against a resilient Bendel Insurance.
Enyimba now has five points having played three games, won one and drew two, while Bendel Insurance are still without a win, having amassed three points in three games.
