Bendel Insurance FC signs Shooting Stars of Ibadan midfielder, Kelly Kester

2023 Federation Cup winners, Bendel Insurance FC on Tuesday announced the arrival of former Shooting Stars midfielder Kelly Kester.
Kester, who has got continental experience is Insurance’s second signing of the 2023 summer transfer window, with the Benin Arsenal having already signed Paul Obata.
The Benin Arsenal confirmed the arrival of the midfielder via a tweet on their official Twitter handle.
Kelly Kester has penned a two-year deal with Bendel Insurance, meaning he will remain with the club until 2025.
In an unveiling video shared by the club, Kester expressed his delight at returning “home” to Benin to represent the 2-time Nigerian top-flight league champions.
The former Lobi Stars man has scored 3 goals and provided 2 assists in 139 appearances so far in his career.
He began his career at Shooting Stars before joining Enyimba on December 1, 2015.
After his nearly three-year stint with the People’s Elephant, Kester moved to Akwa United on January 1, 2018.
The 31-year-old has also played for Lobi Stars, Kano Pillars, Hong Linh FC, Gia Lai and Shooting Stars.
Kelly Kester has played in the CAF Champions League with Enyimba and Lobi Stars, making 5 and 7 appearances respectively.
Kelly Kester has immense continental experience. He has also played in the CAF Confederations Cup with Akwa United, making 4 appearances.
The man who can also function as a centre-back will be coming in to offer Monday Odigie’s boys experience and solidity as they battle in the CAF Confederations Cup next term.
"Several players are also reportedly nearing the exit door and the arrival of Kelly Kester will help plug those impending loopholes," says the club.
