In a post-match interview, the Head Coach of Bendel Insurance, Greg Ikhenoba, showered praise on his boys for holding on to their first-half lead despite noticeable weaknesses.
According to him, securing all three points was the most important part of the game, and he thanked God that his team managed to achieve it.
"I thank God we got the three points; that was our plan. I also thank the management for standing behind us and appreciate the boys for their resilience.
"As a matter of fact, some of my boys are fatigued and need rest. They have been very busy, playing two or three games within a week while making long-distance journeys.
"Last week, we traveled to Umuahia for our match against Abia Warriors and, the next day, moved to Lafia, Nasarawa State, for the Round of 64 FA Cup. So, I must commend my boys—they have done well."
The award-winning coach, Greg Ikhenoba, stated that the team is now focused on their game against Kano Pillars and assured Insurance fans of a good result.
Meanwhile, Coach Greg Ikhenoba has received the League Bloggers Award as the Best Manager of February 2025.
Since his promotion to head coach following the resignation of his former boss, Monday Odigie, Coach Greg Ikhenoba has proven his critics wrong.
He guided Insurance from the bottom of the league table to a comfortable position, and they now sit in 5th place.
Upon receiving the award plaque, Coach Ikhenoba expressed his appreciation for the honor.
"I return the glory to God for making this possible. I dedicate this award to the management and supporters of Bendel Insurance.
"I also dedicate this award to our tireless fans and supporters, including our good friends who have stood by us."
