NLO side Ben Akwuegbu FC once again left no one in doubt about their winning mentality after outclassing non-league side Ajester FC 1-0 in the final played at the 1905 Bukuru Mini Stadium in front of a large crowd.
After their impressive penalty shootout win against their fellow NLO counterparts, Deluxe FC, in the semis, they were largely described by many as champions-elect going into the final against Ajester FC.
As the game got underway, reliable top scorer Habib Adedayo scored what turned out to be the winning goal in the 30th minute, his 9th goal of the tournament.
At the end of the game, after they were confirmed as champions, the team joyfully lifted the glamorous trophy in front of jubilant supporters at the stadium.
As the NLO competition commences soon, coach Joshua Zira and the rest of his technical crew will now focus their attention on preparing the team for the tasks ahead.
There is no doubt that the experience Ben Akwuegbu FC players have gathered in the past few months of intense football, including the State FA CUP where they faced NPFL side Plateau United in the semis, will surely be an asset to the team going forward.
