Belgian club KV Kortrijk loan in Liverpool alum Ojo from Cardiff City
Posted : 16 August 2023
Belgian Pro League team KV Kortrijk has confirmed the acquisition of Liverpool academy graduate Sheyi Ojo on their official website, with the winger, who is owned by Cardiff City, set to spend the remainder of the 2023-2024 season on loan with the club.
Ojo's loan move follows Wales U21 international striker Isaak Davies in transferring to KV Kortrijk this summer.
Notably, Ojo recently contributed to Cardiff City's advancement to the Carabao Cup's second round by scoring a penalty in a shootout win against Colchester United.
Having made his Premier League debut for Liverpool in 2016 and represented them in various competitions, Ojo parted ways with the club after an 11-year association in 2022.
His career at Anfield included loan spells at Wigan Athletic, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Fulham, Reims, Glasgow Rangers, Cardiff City, and Millwall.
During his time at Cardiff City, Ojo has contributed to 14 goals (7 goals, 7 assists) in 82 appearances across all competitions.
It's worth noting that K.V. Kortrijk has previously featured other Nigerian players like Austin Eguavoen, Imoh Ezekiel, Abdul Ajagun, and Terem Moffi.
