Thomas Mueller celebrated his 400th Bundesliga start with a brace as Bayern Munich cruised to a 5-1 victory over Union Berlin on Saturday. Harry Kane added to the tally with his 33rd league goal of the season, while Leon Goretzka and 18-year-old Mathys Tel also found the back of the net, securing a comfortable win for coach Thomas Tuchel's side following their Champions League semifinal qualification earlier in the week.
Despite conceding the title to Bayer Leverkusen last week, Bayern Munich displayed their dominance, moving to 66 points from 30 matches, three points ahead of VfB Stuttgart, who play Werder Bremen on Sunday.
The scoring spree began in the first half when Mueller and Goretzka combined to put Bayern ahead, followed by Kane's impressive 30-meter free-kick. Mueller continued the onslaught in the second half, with Tel and Yorbe Vertessen also getting on the scoresheet.
In other Bundesliga action, RB Leipzig secured a vital 2-1 away win against Heidenheim, pushing them three points clear in the fourth Champions League qualifying spot. Meanwhile, Darmstadt ended a 22-game winless streak with a 2-0 victory over Cologne, boosting their hopes of avoiding relegation.
Additionally, Wolfsburg secured a 1-0 win over Bochum, thanks to Jonas Wind's first Bundesliga goal since November, while Hoffenheim edged past Borussia Moenchengladbach in a thrilling 4-3 encounter with Anton Stach scoring the winner in added time.
