Bayelsa State Football Association Sponsors four coaches to NIS

The Bayelsa State Football Association has sent four promising grassroots coaches to the National Institute of Sports (NIS), Lagos, for coaching courses in National Diploma.  


The state football body, in a statement signed by its secretary, Diseye Nwankwe, stated that the decision to send the coaches to the National Institute of Sports was to ensure that young Bayelsa coaches can compete favorably with their peers both within and outside the state.  


According to the statement, the association is committed to enabling grassroots football coaches in the state to acquire the basic certification in coaching and to equip them with modern coaching techniques. This initiative aims to help them impart skills effectively to their respective teams during tournaments.  


The statement also mentioned that the four selected coaches are Donbai Emmanuel of Donbai United Football Academy, Edike Dift of Dream Boys Football Academy, Freeborn Mere of Hope Alive FC, Otuoke, and Ugbana Wole Isaac of FC Silina.  


It further explained that the selected coaches are young professionals who have demonstrated character and dedication over the years during competitions in the state. The training is expected to give them more exposure upon their return as they prepare for the state league and the Prosperity Cup Season Seven this year.  


The statement noted that this is the second time the Poubeni Ogun-led FA is enrolling coaches at the National Institute of Sports (NIS). It emphasized that the association is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that these coaches excel in their careers.  


The association also urged the coaches to represent Bayelsa State well during the program, expressing confidence that they will perform excellently and come out with flying colors.
