The Commissioner for Sports Development in Bayelsa State, Daniel Igali, has commended Bayelsa United following their first away win of the current NPFL campaign.
Bayelsa United, playing away on Sunday, defeated Rivers United 1-0 in a South-South derby, relieving some pressure on coach Ladan Bosso, who was given a two-match ultimatum by the State Government to turn the team's fortunes around.

In an exclusive interview, Igali expressed satisfaction with the performance of the Prosperity Boys despite the pressure.
Igali, who attended the game in Port Harcourt, noted that the technical crew and players approached the match with a positive attitude and were resilient, which led to the result.
"The 1-0 win against Rivers United was our first away win of the season, and while our results haven't been spectacular, they don't reflect the team's true strength. I think the team is now finding their form."
"You can see that with just that win, the team is now fifth on the log, and we hope to keep the momentum going."
"I was very pleased with the way our players performed away from home. I believe if we can maintain this spirit in our home games, we should be in a very respectable position in the league."
Bayelsa United’s next two fixtures are against Katsina United in Yenagoa and a trip to 3SC of Ibadan.
