The management of Bayelsa Queens has announced their decision to withdraw from the Betsy Obaseki Women's Football Tournament (BOWFT).
The Prosperity Girls made this decision following a letter sent to them by the Edo State Football Association (ESFA) after Delta Queens protested the use of two players by the Yenagoa-based side.
Pastor Robin Apreala, the chairman of Bayelsa Queens, stated that the club would be withdrawing from the tournament and returning to their base in Yenagoa because the organizers did not give them a fair hearing.
He added that the BOWFT is a preseason competition where any player willing to play for a club can be used.
"Bayelsa Queens FC of Yenagoa will withdraw from the tournament, even though we have qualified for the Quarter Finals of the ongoing BOWFT, due to the one-sided judgment by the organizers in favor of Delta Queens without affording us a fair hearing.
"This is a pre-season tournament, and you can use any player willing to play for you.
"Goodbye to BOWFT. Henceforth, Bayelsa Queens FC will not honor any of their invitations," the coach said angrily.
