Hapoel Petah Tikva, a renowned Israeli club with six championship titles, has officially confirmed the signing of Nigerian striker, Fortune Bassey.
The talented player will be joining the team on loan from Ferencváros for the entirety of the 2023-2024 season, with an option for the club to make the transfer permanent.
Bassey's grand introduction to Hapoel Petah Tikva is expected to take place in the coming days upon his arrival in Israel.
The 24-year-old forward has an impressive football journey, starting in Nigeria's Eagle's Wing academy and then making a move to the Czech League at just eighteen years old, where he showcased his goal-scoring prowess with a remarkable tally of 42 goals over four seasons.
His exceptional performance caught the attention of Hungarian club Ferencváros, who acquired him in 2022.
However, they have now allowed him to join Hapoel Petah Tikva on loan.
During his time with Ferencváros, Bassey was also sent on loan to Viktoria Plzeň, where he gained valuable experience, featuring in eighteen matches across various competitions, including five appearances in the prestigious UEFA Champions League.
