After 18 years with the team, captain Sergio Busquets has announced he will quit Barcelona at the end of the current campaign.
The 34-year-old former Spain midfielder has appeared in 718 games for Barcelona, which ranks third in club history.
Eight La Liga championships, seven Copa del Reys, seven Spanish Super Cups, and three Champions Leagues are among the awards he has won with the team.
"Although it has not been an easy decision, I think the time has come," Busquets said.
"It has been an unforgettable journey," he added. "I always dreamed of playing with this shirt and at this stadium. Reality has exceeded all my dreams.
"It has been an honour, a dream, a source of pride, and it meant everything to defend and represent this badge for so many years.
"But everything has a beginning and an end. I want to thank all the people who made this possible, from the first day to the last."
As a young player, Busquets joined the squad in 2005 and then moved on to Barca's B team before making his first-team debut under manager Pep Guardiola in a league match against Racing Santander in 2008.
The defensive midfielder, who has also captured three Club World Cups and three European Super Cups with the Spanish powerhouses, is on track to round off his Barcelona career with a ninth league championship.
