As part of efforts to deliver on his mandate of repositioning football in Benue State, the Chairman, Benue State Football Association (BAFA), Barr Paul Edeh, constituted a team headed by Dominic Iorfa to work assiduously to ensure that, BCC Lions Football Club of Gboko returns to topflight football.
Edeh made this known during the 2023 general congress of the association at Eyah Hotel and Suites in Makurdi.
The directive was made to complement the role of Lobi Stars as well as reduce the pressure on the only elite club in the state.
Edeh in a remark called for total support and commitment among football stakeholders in the state that would create the needed atmosphere for him to implement policies and programs that would revive grassroots football, and revamp BCC Lions of Gboko among other issues to return glory days of football in the State.
According to the BAFA boss, it has become pertinent to reduce pressure on Lobi Stars which is the only Club in the state and the only way to do that is to revamp the moribund club for the benefit of talented youths and coaches in the State.
He further maintained that the team was made up of legends as well as football administrators who are versatile with football knowledge that would contribute positively towards achieving the stated goal.
Responding on behalf of the committee members, Iorfa thanked the Association for finding them worthy among many to carry out the task, saying football has gone scientific, adding that, they would key into the Edeh-led administration to help him succeed on his tenure.
Iorfa who is the Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Lobi Stars as well as the NPFL Board Member maintained that, his team would work together to deliver on the mandate that would see BCC Lion Football revamped for the good of the talented youths to develop their talents as well as coaches for national development.
The committee members were immediately sworn in by the Director of Sports, Philip Nongo with a charge to work in line with the term of reference to deliver on the trust vested on them.
The committee members are Domnic Iorfa as Chairman and Abdul Sule as Vice Chairman. Others are Felix Pilakyah, Charles Iortyom, Emma Abah, Barr Moses Ukpo, and Moses Kpakor as members, while Iorgulum Malu is to serve as Secretary.
