Association Sportive de la Vallée de l'Ouémé (ASVO) FC’s new signing, Anthony Omaka, says he has the experience to help his new team win silverware, as he expressed his delight in playing under new manager Fatai Osho.
It should be recalled that Omaka, a combative midfielder, won the Player of the Match award in ASVO FC’s game against KASAM FA of Ilorin at the Optima Energy Gold Cup.
Omaka said: "It feels amazing, and it has actually been my dream growing up to play outside the shores of Nigeria.
"It's also nice, as I now have the chance to play under one of the best Nigerian coaches, Fatai Osho.
"The ASVO FC project is good and won’t come easy, but with all hands on deck, we can help the club achieve its goals.
"I know that there are better and more experienced players in the Benin Premier League, but I’m bonding well with my fellow countrymen and the Beninese players in the team.
"I'm here to compete at the highest level, show my quality, and deliver strong performances in matches when the season finally kicks off."
After spending two weeks on a preseason tour in Ikenne, Omaka and his ASVO FC team will return to Benin on Wednesday next week to intensify their preparations for the upcoming season.
