Wrexham FC has officially announced that Arthur Okonkwo, the talented goalkeeper, will be temporarily heading back to his parent club, Arsenal, for surgery on a jaw injury sustained during a recent League Two fixture against Harrogate Town.
The injury occurred in a 2-2 draw, and Okonkwo's return to Wrexham will follow the completion of the surgery. Both Wrexham and Arsenal medical teams have assessed the situation, and it's anticipated that Okonkwo may need to wear a protective mask during his recovery period.
Arthur Okonkwo, a product of the Hale End Academy, has been a standout performer since joining Wrexham in the summer. Having previously impressed during a loan term with Sturm Graz, the 22-year-old goalkeeper has featured in 13 games across all competitions, keeping six clean sheets.
However, the exact timeline for Okonkwo's return remains uncertain, and Wrexham's manager, Phil Parkinson, is eager for his goalkeeper to recover swiftly. Currently holding the 2nd position in the League Two table with 37 points from twenty games, Wrexham is also progressing to the 3rd round of the FA Cup.
