Manchester City suffered a heartbreaking defeat to Arsenal in the Community Shield final at Wembley Stadium. Despite taking a 1-0 lead in the 77th minute through Cole Palmer's strike, Arsenal equalized in the 90+11th minute with a goal from Leandro Trossard, assisted by a deflection off Manuel Akanji.
