Arsenal win Community Shield, defeating Manchester City 11th point

Manchester City suffered a heartbreaking defeat to Arsenal in the Community Shield final at Wembley Stadium. Despite taking a 1-0 lead in the 77th minute through Cole Palmer's strike, Arsenal equalized in the 90+11th minute with a goal from Leandro Trossard, assisted by a deflection off Manuel Akanji.

The match was sent to a penalty shootout, during which Kevin De Bruyne and Rodri missed their spot-kicks, leading to Arsenal's 4-1 victory in the shootout.
 
Both teams fielded strong line-ups, with new signing Mateo Kovacic featuring for Manchester City alongside De Bruyne, Julian Alvarez, and Erling Haaland. Arsenal, on the other hand, had their newly acquired trio of Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, and Jurrien Timber in the starting eleven.

The thrilling encounter ended 1-1 after extra time, and Arsenal prevailed in the penalty shootout, claiming their first title of the season. Manchester City has now lost all three of their last Community Shield matches.
