Arsenal kicked off their Premier League campaign with a 2-1 victory against Nottingham Forest in the opening weekend, with Bukayo Saka's impressive first-half strike leading the way.
Eddie Nketiah's 26th-minute goal set the tone for Arsenal, and Saka extended their lead with a curling shot from outside the box that found the top left corner of the Forest net, eluding former Gunners keeper Matt Turner.
However, Nottingham Forest staged a late comeback as substitute Taiwo Awoniyi pulled one back in the 83rd minute, creating tension towards the end of the game.
The match suffered a 30-minute delay due to e-ticketing system issues, resulting in most fans being outside Emirates Stadium at the initially scheduled kick-off time of 12:30 BST.
Despite Nottingham Forest having the first notable chance, Arsenal controlled the majority of the game, with Gabriel Martinelli's energetic play creating opportunities. Nketiah found the net with a deflected shot, while Saka showcased his skill with a well-placed effort on target.
Despite Arsenal's win, their day was somewhat marred by Jurrien Timber's injury, which led to his substitution. Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, and Timber, Arsenal's notable summer signings, all played, with Rice coming close to scoring on a couple of occasions.
Nottingham Forest, led by manager Steve Cooper, struggled to create significant scoring opportunities, although Taiwo Awoniyi's late entry sparked a revival. Awoniyi's goal came from Anthony Elanga's pass, but despite additional injury time, Forest failed to secure a second goal.
With their opening weekend victory following their Community Shield win over Manchester City, Arsenal aims to regain momentum after a disappointing end to the previous season, where they lost the Premier League title to City.
