Arsenal loses to Brighton, Martin Odegaard says "no hope" left
Posted : 15 May 2023
After losing to Brighton 3-0 on Sunday, it was apparent from the expressions on the players' faces that Arsenal understood the Premier League title chase was gone.
Arsenal still needed Manchester City to lose one of their last three games, an unusual situation, but a victory was necessary if they wanted to stay in the race.
Instead, they gave in as Brighton scored three goals in the second half to support their incredible bid to play in Europe next season.
"It is going to be very difficult now, we have to be honest. It is tough to take," Arsenal captain said.
"It is not a good feeling at the moment. The way we played, particularly in the second half. I don't know what happened to be honest.
"It feels like there is no hope now."
With only two games left, Arsenal's loss puts them four points behind Manchester City, who are now in first place.
