Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli of Arsenal have tied the record set by Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney of Manchester United.
Martinelli scored from Saka's cross to give Arsenal a chance to play Southampton in the Premier League and cut the deficit in half. OptaJoe reports that with their respective goals and assists, the pair has passed former Manchester United teammates Ronaldo and Rooney to become only the second pair of under-21s to have
have 20+ goal involvements in a single season.
At halftime of their Premier League match at home against Southampton, Arsenal is down 2-1. They would lose points in the league for the third straight game if they suffered a defeat.
The Gunners fans will be hoping Saka and Martinelli come through once again in the game for the sake of their championship ambitions, similar to how much of the season they have done so.
Arsenal has to defeat Southampton in order to advance to the Premier League matchup versus Manchester City at the Etihad, which may determine the league's champion.
