Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd missed scouting Club Brugge prodigy
Posted : 22 September 2023
Premier League heavyweights Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United had planned to scout Club Brugge's young star, Antonio Nusa, during the Europa Conference League clash against Besiktas.
However, scouts from these top English teams, along with representatives from Atlético de Madrid, Marseille, and Borussia Dortmund, were likely disappointed. The Norwegian talent, with Nigerian roots, wasn't included in the matchday squad.
Hints of his absence emerged when he wasn't seen training a day before the match. Nusa, 18, had been dealing with a back issue and didn't pass a fitness test prior to the Besiktas match. Despite this, he had been instrumental in Club Brugge's recent victory over RSC Charleroi, contributing a goal and an assist during a 4-2 win.
His stellar performance this season — 3 goals and 6 assists in 13 appearances for both club and national side — has drawn attention from Europe's elite clubs.
