Argentina and South Africa draw 2-2 in Women's World Cup

In an exciting match, Argentina and South Africa battled to a 2-2 draw in the Women's World Cup on Friday. The Africans took a 2-0 lead with goals from Linda Motlhalo and Thembi Kgatlana in the 30th and 66th minutes, respectively. However, Argentina mounted a comeback in the late second half.
Sophia Braun started the comeback for Argentina with a brilliant right-footed shot from 20 yards out, finding the top right corner of the net in the 74th minute. Then, in the 79th minute, Romina Nunez scored an equalizer with a well-placed header after a cross from Yamila Rodríguez.
South Africa's coach, Desiree Ellis, expressed frustration at her team's missed chances, stating that taking those opportunities could have led to a different outcome.
Despite the draw, both teams remain tied for third place in Group G with one point each, holding records of 0-1-1.
The other teams in the group, Sweden and Italy, have three points each and will face off on Saturday in Wellington, New Zealand.
Argentina's midfielder, Sophia Braun, praised her team's spirit, saying they never gave up and played their hearts out. They are now looking forward to their match against Sweden, expecting another tough battle.
Both Argentina and South Africa will aim to secure their first-ever Round of 16 berth, with Argentina facing Sweden and South Africa playing against Italy in their next matches.
