Antonio Conte Leaves Tottenham Hotspur, Daniel Levy's Moves Require Close Inspection
Posted : 11 April 2023
Antonio Conte is the most recent manager to leave Tottenham Hotspur after the club announced his impending resignation on Sunday night. Daniel Levy has hired 11 full-time managers at the club and fired each and every one of them. Conte is only the most well-known coach to be used as a scapegoat by the Premier League chairman who has held the position for the longest.
There will eventually be a 12th appointee. Julian Nagelsmann, who has been jobless since Bayern Munich fired him last week, or Levy may decide to bring in Mauricio Pochettino for a second stint. Another candidate is Oliver Glasner, the head coach of Eintracht Frankfurt, who led the German team to Europa League victory the previous year.
Regardless of who takes over for former Chelsea, Juventus, and Inter Milan coach Conte at Spurs, that person will need to figure out how to get along with Levy and fulfill his aspirations.
Additionally, he will be required to perform it without being able to financially rival Tottenham's Big Six opponents. And neither the players nor Levy will bear the cost if he fails. The same thing happened to Conte, Jose Mourinho, Harry Redknapp, Andre Villas-Boas, and even Pochettino, who led Tottenham to the 2019 Champions League final.
