Ana Maria Markovic Leaves Braga After Emotional Instagram Confession

After just six months at Braga, Ana Maria Markovic has decided to part ways with the club, marking an unexpected turn in her career. The Croatian forward, often dubbed "the most beautiful footballer in the world," had joined the Portuguese side with high expectations but struggled to make an impact. Last month, she shocked her 3.1 million Instagram followers with a tearful video in which she admitted to sometimes "hating football," hinting at deeper struggles behind the scenes.

 

Markovic, 25, made only four appearances for Braga without scoring, having previously played for Grasshoppers Zurich, where she netted 10 goals in 56 matches. In her farewell message, she reflected on her brief but intense time at the club, acknowledging both the highs and lows. She emphasized the personal growth she experienced and expressed gratitude to her teammates for their camaraderie, as well as to the club and its fans for their support.

 

Braga confirmed the departure, stating that both parties had mutually agreed to terminate the contract. The club thanked Markovic for her dedication and professionalism, wishing her success in the next phase of her career. Despite the challenges, she remains optimistic about the future, promising to continue her football journey with renewed determination.
