2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 11: Amuneke continues winning streak as Heartland secures 1-0 win over Sunshine Stars

Emmanuel Amuneke led Heartland FC to secure their third consecutive win of the season on Sunday with a 1-0 victory over Sunshine Stars of Akure in the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 11 fixtures.


The resurgent Heartland FC maintained their current form with a lone goal scored by Christian Molokwu in the 8th minute against Sunshine Stars of Akure.

The win has moved Coach Emmanuel Amuneke’s side out of the relegation zone, as they now occupy 10th place on the log with 15 points.


Following the unfortunate loss, Sunshine Stars coach Kennedy Boboye resigned from his position as head coach.


The two-time NPFL champion, prior to facing the Naze Millionaires in Owerri, had complained about ongoing interference from the club management, particularly from Ondo State Football Association (ODSFA) Chairman Bamidele Ologunloluwa, whose actions had become increasingly disruptive.
