AMGA 2024: Cameroon beats Nigeria in nail-biting fixtures

Team Nigeria in the football event at the ongoing 2024 African Military Games lost 1-0 to their Cameroon counterparts in the semi-final of the tournament.


The only goal was scored in extra time after a pulsating semi-final encounter that ended goalless at the end of regulation time.

In the other semi-final, Algeria defeated Equatorial Guinea 2-0 after a one-sided encounter.


The result means that Cameroon and Algeria will face off in Saturday’s final, while Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea will play the 3rd/4th place match.


A total of 20 games are being contested in the 2nd edition of AMGA 2024, with 1,625 athletes from no fewer than 21 African countries competing from Nov. 18 to Nov. 30.
