Alvaro Morata may be unavailable for AC Milan's upcoming Serie A match against Cagliari after being hospitalized due to a head injury sustained during training on Thursday. The club confirmed in a statement that Morata suffered "serious cranial trauma" following a clash during the session.
The 31-year-old striker underwent an MRI, which showed no significant damage, and is reportedly feeling better. He will remain in the hospital for observation as a precaution. The injury occurred during a tussle for the ball with Milan defender Strahinja Pavlovic.
Morata, who scored in Milan's impressive 3-1 Champions League win over Real Madrid earlier in the week, has netted three goals since his summer return to Serie A after lifting the Euro 2024 trophy with Spain. Milan, currently seventh in the league, are eight points behind leaders Napoli ahead of the weekend's match against Cagliari, though they have a game in hand.
