Alejandro Garnacho: With the FA Cup final approaching, Erik ten Hag says, ‘We don't release him’

Argentina's dreams of sending Alejandro Garnacho to the Under-20 World Cup have been shattered by Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United.
Any rumors that Garnacho would miss the remainder of United's regular season to represent Argentina at the Under-20 World Cup have been dispelled by Ten Hag.
The teenager striker, who has been out since March with an ankle injury, has been selected for Javier Mascherano's squad for the tournament in Argentina and was reportedly eager to join the national team.
The United boss put a stop to the rumors by saying that the player will not be released for the competition, which starts on May 20, because it coincides with the conclusion of the club season.
"No, we don't release him," Ten Hag told a press conference ahead of United's Premier League match with Aston Villa.
The Dutchman said that the 19-year-old was almost ready to start playing again.
"Yes tomorrow [Friday] he'll be in team training, partially, then we have to see when he can return totally to team training and back into games," he added.
This season, Garnacho entered the United first squad after a string of impressive displays. He scored vital goals against Fulham, Leeds, and West Ham and assisted Marcus Rashford in setting up the game-winning goal against Manchester City.
When he injured his ankle ligaments against Southampton, his development was halted and he was unable to make his first-team Argentina debut. However, he will soon be ready to play again as United looks to clinch a top-four finish and prepare to play Manchester City in the FA Cup final during the season's final stretch.
