Al Nassr Nears €75M John Duran Deal as Transfer Market Heats Up

Posted : 30 January 2025

Al Nassr is on the verge of making a major signing, with John Duran set to leave Aston Villa for the Saudi club in a deal worth €75 million. The 20-year-old Colombian forward was also linked with several top European clubs, but Al Nassr has emerged as the frontrunner.

The Saudi side is reportedly deciding between Duran and Bayer Leverkusen’s Victor Boniface, as only one will be signed to replace Anderson Talisca, who recently moved to Fenerbahce. Meanwhile, Arsenal and Tottenham are vying for Bayern Munich’s 19-year-old attacker Matthijs Tel, who is looking for more playing time. Manchester United has also entered the race, making his destination uncertain.

Arsenal’s attempts to sign Ollie Watkins have hit a roadblock, with Aston Villa rejecting a £60 million bid for the English striker. Barcelona is facing difficulties in pursuing Marcus Rashford due to financial constraints, while Juventus is keeping an eye on the situation. Manchester United is set to complete the signing of Patrick Dorgu from Lecce for approximately €30 million, securing the Danish youngster on a long-term contract.

Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi has opted to stay at the club until the end of the season, according to Fabrizio Romano. Additionally, reports from Spain suggest that Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior has received a staggering €1 billion offer from Saudi Arabia, with a proposed five-year deal worth €200 million per season.

Bayer Leverkusen is closing in on two signings, with Mario Hermoso arriving for medical tests and Emile Buendía reportedly already completing his examinations ahead of a move. Napoli has made an offer for Porto’s Galeno as they seek a replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who recently joined Paris Saint-Germain.

In Brazil, Santos is preparing to bring back David Washington, the 19-year-old striker they sold to Chelsea in 2023. Manchester United remains interested in Christopher Nkunku, with reports suggesting a possible swap deal involving Alejandro Garnacho. Meanwhile, Kieran Tierney is expected to return to Celtic, with Brendan Rodgers confirming the left-back’s imminent move, either this month or in the summer.

Kevin Danso is pushing for a transfer away from Lens, with Wolves reportedly ready to sign him for around €30 million after a failed move to Roma last summer. Villarreal is set to bring in Canadian winger Tajon Buchanan on loan from Inter Milan, with an option to buy.

Brighton’s Evan Ferguson could join Bayer Leverkusen on loan, while his teammate Lentin Barreco, currently on loan at Sevilla, may switch to Benfica. Juventus has set a €45 million price tag for Douglas Luiz, while Eljif Elmas is set to leave RB Leipzig for Torino on loan, with the Italian club having an option to buy for €17 million.
