Al Nassr ends the season with a victory despite Cristiano Ronaldo's injury

Wednesday marked the conclusion of Cristiano Ronaldo's debut season in Saudi Arabia, but the star striker was not there as Al-Nassr defeated Al-Fateh 3-0 to finish in second place in the league.
Ronaldo, who joined the Riyadh club in December and scored 14 goals in 16 league games, suffered a muscular injury four days prior to Portugal's European Championship qualifiers against Bosnia-Herzegovina and Iceland in June. As a result, he was given a rest before both games.
Anderson Talisca, 38, stole centre stage in Ronaldo's absence and scored twice. He also gave Mohammed Marwan a third assist.
Just 18 months after Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League fired the Portuguese strategist, coach Nuno Santo has already won his maiden league championship.
Al-Hilal, the defending champions from the previous season, took third place after defeating Al-Raed 3-2.
Next season, the league will grow from 16 to 18 clubs.
