Ajax player comments on Rangers-linked striker

Dutch football legend Ronald de Boer has expressed his admiration for Super Eagles striker Cyril Dessers, believing that he has the qualities to succeed at Scottish club Rangers. 

De Boer emphasizes Dessers' physicality and opportunistic playing style, highlighting his effectiveness when in form and confident. 

However, De Boer also warns that Dessers can be limited and ineffective if his confidence wanes.

Rangers have been linked with Dessers since the end of the previous season, as the Nigerian forward's club, Cremonese, faced relegation from Serie A. 

Despite having three years left on his current contract, Dessers could potentially be available for a move. 

The 28-year-old striker is yet to play in the Scottish Premiership but is seen as someone who could adapt quickly and contribute to Rangers' title ambitions.

De Boer notes that Dessers' success at Rangers would depend on the team's philosophy and how well he is managed. 

Comparing him to Rangers' current striker Alfredo Morelos, De Boer suggests that Dessers offers a stronger work ethic but also acknowledges the importance of Dessers feeling comfortable and having the confidence of the manager to fully unleash his potential. 

As Rangers aim to challenge Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title, Dessers could be a valuable addition if he finds his form and adapts well to the team's style of play.
