Aina, Chukwuemeka, Madueke praise Azpilicueta after Chelsea

Super Eagles right-back Ola Aina, along with Nigerian-eligible players Carney Chukwuemeka and Noni Madueke, have sent their heartfelt messages to César Azpilicueta, who recently bid farewell to Chelsea after serving the club for an impressive 11 years.
Azpilicueta, who joined Chelsea in 2012 from Olympique Marseille, amassed a remarkable 508 appearances for the club across all competitions.
During his tenure, he enjoyed a remarkable period of success, winning prestigious titles including the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, Champions League, Europa League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup.
The 33-year-old Spaniard held the captaincy at Chelsea since 2019, following Gary Cahill's departure, and was instrumental in leading the team to their historic FIFA Club World Cup victory in 2021, defeating Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal.
Expressing his gratitude on Instagram, Azpilicueta wrote, "You called me Dave, I'll always call you home," reflecting the deep bond he had with the club.
Ola Aina, who had the opportunity to play alongside Azpilicueta, responded to the defender's farewell post, saying, "All the best legend."
Carney Chukwuemeka and Noni Madueke, who had the privilege of sharing the pitch with Azpilicueta during the 2022-2023 season, also expressed their well wishes in response to his farewell post.
The England U21 star Chukwuemeka said, "All the best Azpi legend," while Madueke added, "All the best bro."
Following his departure from Chelsea, Azpilicueta has now joined Atlético de Madrid on a free transfer, signing a one-season deal, embarking on a new chapter in his illustrious career.
