Ahead of the 2024/2025 Nigeria National League (NNL), Coach Gafar Mohammed of First Bank FC has set his sights on securing one of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) promotion tickets.
The First Bank coach confirmed his personal goal of promoting the team to the NPFL by the end of the season, which will begin on Saturday, November 30, 2024.
Coach Gafar stated that the ultimate aim of the club's management is to play in the top tier of the Nigeria League, and they are providing everything necessary to ensure the team stays motivated to compete for one of the NPFL promotion tickets that the NNL offers.
He noted that team preparations are progressing according to plan, with many preseason matches, and he believes the team will be ready for the upcoming challenges before the kick-off of the NNL 2024/2025 season.
“Yes, as you can see, the preparations are going well with lots of preseason matches, and I think that will equip us to be ready for the season as soon as the ball starts rolling. Once the league kicks off, we are set,” Mohammed said.
Regarding his personal goals and the management's objectives for the season, Mohammed expressed his ambition as a coach and his desire to succeed.
"I know what it takes to be there, so definitely the management wants to be there as well. I want to try as much as possible to compete well, not just to participate," he said.
