In the latest release by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Nigeria's soccer icon Asisat Oshoala, nicknamed "Agba Baller," is vying for her sixth Africa Women’s Footballer of the Year award.
The 10-woman shortlist includes Super Falcons' Asisat Oshoala, the striker from Barcelona FC Feminine, and goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie. Oshoala has dominated the award for the past nine years, while Nnadozie, known for her outstanding performances during the 2023 World Cup and her contributions to Paris FC's UEFA Women’s Champions League Group Stage, aims for her first title.
Other nominees include three Moroccan players, three from South Africa, and one each from Zambia and Cameroon.

Oshoala has previously won the award in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2022, setting a record as the first player to achieve this feat five times.
The winner of this prestigious individual accolade will be announced during the 2023 Awards Gala scheduled for December 11, 2023, in Marrakech, Morocco.
