Dino Sporting Club has cleared the air regarding the purported disappearance of one of its players, Afolayan Temitope Peters, who was recently declared AWOL (Absent Without Official Leave) by Heartland United.
Dino Sporting Club stated that, as the parent club, they recalled the player due to a breach of contract by Heartland International FC.
The Naze Millionaires had previously stated that they were unaware of the player’s whereabouts.
In response to Heartland’s statement, Dino Sporting Club explained that they recalled the player because Heartland failed to honor an agreement between the two clubs.
According to Dino’s statement: “Dino Sporting Club wishes to clarify the situation regarding the status of our player, Afolayan Temitope Peters.
The player was recalled by Dino Sporting Club following Heartland FC’s failure to fulfill their obligations and formalize a loan agreement after the expiration of the initial two-season loan contract.”
The statement further detailed that Heartland had requested a loan extension for Peters before the 2024/25 season, even asking for the player’s registration while negotiations were still ongoing, citing urgent league registration deadlines.
Dino Sporting Club cooperated with this request.
However, “Despite our cooperation, Heartland FC failed to execute the loan agreement, and repeated efforts to finalize the arrangement were unsuccessful. Consequently, Dino Sporting Club had no choice but to recall Afolayan Temitope Peters.”
Dino Sporting Club strongly refuted Heartland’s claim that Peters went AWOL.
“We categorically state that the player did not go AWOL, as falsely claimed by Heartland FC. Furthermore, the club confirms that no loan fee was received from Heartland FC for this player.”
Dino Sporting Club concluded by asserting that they possess all necessary documentation to support their claims and are prepared to release them if required.
“Dino Sporting Club has all relevant documentation to substantiate these claims and will release them if necessary. We remain committed to upholding professional standards and ensuring the best interests of our players and the club.”
