It was an entertaining afternoon on matchday 2 of the 2023/2024 NNL season as International Lagos hosted Crown FC of Ogbomoso inside the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos.
The eventful first half saw the host take the lead through Favour Aroyameh in the 26th minute. The side led by Coach Raheem Tajudeen did everything to equalize in the first half, but all plans went awry as Rasheed and Sanni couldn't get past the Lagos goalkeeper.
The second half featured an excellent performance from the goalkeeper of Crown FC, Onwuga, who was making his full debut after the team's number one, Belema, got injured in the matchday one game of the season against FC One Rocket. Onwuga's performance kept the scoreline at 1-0 for most of the second half.
It took Crown FC until the 85th minute before midfield General Folarin Temitope equalized for Crown FC from a well-taken corner kick by Ogunjobi Kamoru, who now has two assists to his name.
In the 90th minute, former Ogbomoso United winger Adekunle Mojeed Tevez produced a moment of magic that gave Crown FC the lead for the first time in the game, a goal that could secure the win for Crown FC.
In the additional minutes, Inter Lagos thought they had equalized, but the goal was ruled offside by the Assistant Referee, ensuring that Crown FC returned to Ogbomoso with the maximum 3 points.
The Olamide Ilupeju Ortega boys now have 6 points after back-to-back wins and will focus on their next home game against Gateway FC, who defeated them in the first game of last season.
