The Ondo State third-tier league side, Adamimogo Football Club, has unveiled Coach Adepoju Banjo Ayodeji as the new head coach.
The unveiling ceremony, which took place at the club office, was attended by the club secretary, Deji Ogunbusuyi, and team coordinator, Adetula Jenyo. The former head coach of the South West team (Zenith Eagle) disclosed his ambition to take the former state FA Cup finalist to the next level.
The experienced tactician, who has achieved a great deal of success with Rising Stars and Akure City FC, is set to bring his wealth of experience to achieve the club's goals and aspirations.
Speaking at the ceremony, the two members of the management team, Deji Ogunbusuyi and Adetula Jenyo, expressed their displeasure over the club's performance last season, where the team failed to secure an NNL slot and lost 0-2 in the Federation Cup against El Kanemi Warriors.
This is the reason why Sam Olu Alo's side has called upon the experienced coach to take the team to the Nigeria National League this coming season.
Alo disclosed that the management is conscious of the expectations of the fans, which is why they decided to engage the services of an experienced coach.
“This is a very senior coach with vast experience in the Nigeria league.
"Coach Adepoju Banjo is one of the finest coaches that Nigeria has produced.
"He has impacted and continues to impact Nigerian football, footballers, and administration.
“He has guided many clubs to victories, triumphs, and successes in his coaching career.
"His most recent achievements were with Akure City and Rising Stars, while his footprint is noticeable at Sunshine Stars.
"Our target is to secure an NNL ticket within a season," he said.
“We, as management, believe that, with the support of all stakeholders present here, Coach Adepoju Banjo will be able to replicate his winning streaks and stellar performances, making Adamimogo Football Club competitive next season and, ultimately, securing an NNL ticket for the club at the end of the 2024/2025 football season.”
In his response, Coach Adepoju promised to deliver while calling for the support of everyone to make the team a force to be reckoned with in the 2024/2025 NLO1 season.
