AC Milan engages in discussions with a Super Eagles star

AC Milan has emerged as the frontrunners in the pursuit of Villarreal's highly talented winger, Samuel Chukwueze, attracting interest from top European clubs like Arsenal, Liverpool, and Real Madrid. 

In a recent episode of the Calciomercato – L’Originale show, renowned transfer market insider Gianluca Di Marzio provided updates on Milan's efforts to secure Chukwueze's signature.

According to Di Marzio, AC Milan conducted a two-hour meeting with the representatives of the Nigerian winger at their headquarters, Casa Milan. 

The primary focus of the discussion was to understand Chukwueze's salary expectations, setting the stage for potential negotiations with Villarreal in the near future. 

Geoffrey Moncada, the newly appointed decision-maker for player acquisitions, represented Milan during the meeting, signaling their serious intent.

However, Liverpool is also reportedly keen on securing Chukwueze's services, along with Real Madrid, Arsenal, West Ham, Aston Villa, and other interested parties closely monitoring the winger's situation. 

Chukwueze's contract with Villarreal is entering its final year after an impressive season, making him an enticing target for potential suitors.

Since joining Villarreal in 2018, Chukwueze has been a key contributor to their success, boasting an impressive record of 24 goal involvements in 50 matches this season alone, including 13 goals and 11 assists. 

With his contract set to expire in the summer of 2024, Villarreal may be inclined to consider a summer departure for the 24-year-old, provided an attractive financial offer is presented.

Amidst the swirling transfer rumors, Villarreal President Fernando Roig Alfonso has emphasized that there have been no concrete offers for Samuel Chukwueze and has dismissed any knowledge of Real Madrid's reported interest in the Nigerian winger. 

As the transfer window progresses, it remains to be seen which club will successfully secure Chukwueze's signature and unleash his immense talent in their squad.
