AC Milan considers Akor Adams from Montpellier for Serie A
Posted : 14 November 2023
AC Milan is actively pursuing Montpellier's Akor Adams following his standout performances in France. The Serie A giants, led by Stefano Pioli, are in need of a reliable center forward to support Olivier Giroud during crucial moments in the season. However, their current search has been less successful, with Luka Jovic falling short of expectations.
Turning their attention to Akor Adams, Milan sees potential in the Nigerian footballer, born in 2000, who fits the team's requirements. Standing at 190cm tall, Adams primarily plays as a center forward but also showcases versatility by occasionally featuring as an attacking midfielder or winger.
Having honed his skills in Norwegian football with Sogndal and Lillestrom, Adams boasts an impressive record of 106 games, 44 goals, and 14 assists. His true emergence, though, occurred after joining Montpellier in August. In just 11 appearances, he has contributed seven goals, nearly half of Montpellier's total goals in Ligue 1 this season.
Despite his goal-scoring prowess, Adams has yet to make his debut for the Nigerian national team, having only featured in two matches during the 2019 Under-20 World Championship. In a recent match against OGC Nice, Adams showcased his attacking abilities, highlighting his potential to trouble opposing defenses.
With a knack for finding the net, Akor Adams could become a valuable asset for AC Milan, particularly in the absence of Giroud or in a potentially formidable attacking partnership alongside the former Arsenal and Chelsea striker. In the summer, Milan also signed Adams' compatriot, Samuel Chukwueze, from Villarreal.
