Italian club AC Milan has announced Paulo Fonseca as their new manager, succeeding Stefano Pioli. The 51-year-old Portuguese, formerly in charge of French club Lille from 2022 to 2024, has penned a three-year contract until 2027.
Fonseca's appointment comes after Stefano Pioli departed AC Milan by mutual agreement following their fourth-place finish in Serie A. Fonseca left Lille after they secured a fourth-place finish in Ligue 1, missing out on direct qualification for the Champions League.
Previously, Fonseca has managed clubs like Roma, Shakhtar Donetsk, and Porto. He boasts achievements such as winning the Portuguese Super Cup with Porto in 2013 and clinching the Ukrainian league and cup double three times with Shakhtar.
