Abia Warriors Football Club is gearing up for the upcoming Nigeria Premier Football League season. After a short break, the players and staff are back on the field, eager to make a strong showing.
The previous season wasn't what they had hoped for. They fell short of clinching the 2024 President Federation Cup, losing the final match to El-Kanemi FC. Now, with renewed determination, they are setting their sights on improvement.
This week marked a significant moment for the club. On Monday, July 22nd, the players had their first training session under the guidance of their new manager, Coach Imama Amapakabo. This was the first time the team had met their new leader on the pitch.
The session involved both established Abia Warriors players and new signings, who will be officially introduced at a later date. Before the training commenced, Coach Amapakabo, who hails from Rivers State, addressed the entire team.
The club, also known as the Pride of Umuahia, has made it clear that they are serious about achieving better results. They are committed to putting in the hard work required to surpass their performance from the last season and climb the league ranks.
