2023/2024 NPFL Match Day 13 Oriental derby: Abia Warriors rally for stronger ties against defending champions, Enyimba Int'l FC

As Abia Warriors FC travels to Enyimba International FC Stadium to face the nine-time league champions for the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Match Day 13, the Technical Adviser of the team, Erasmus Onuh, has appealed to the players to put the woes of the unfortunate 1-1 home draw against Sporting Lagos FC behind them and focus on the next big assignment.

Recall that Abia Warriors' NPFL Match Day 12 against the Tech Boys in Umuahia ended in a stalemate with both teams having to share the spoils.

Now, the next big match is against the defending champions who are just getting back on their feet in the season.

The match in Aba will be a blockbuster because both teams share the same state, and their fans often get divided when such instances occur when they have to face each other.

Meanwhile, ahead of the all-important oriental derby against Nigeria champions Enyimba International Football Club of Aba, Abia Warriors FC said the team had stepped up preparations as they continued their training session, which was later followed by a brief meeting between the players and the technical crew.

The Technical Adviser, Coach Erasmus Onuh, stated that the Warriors had put the draw against Sporting Lagos FC behind them, and they are ready to lock horns with the two-time African champions.

"We have put the home draw against Sporting Lagos behind us, and we are prepared and ready to fire from all angles.

"We take each game at a time, and now that we're done with the mid-week fixture, we are heading to Aba to get a tangible result."

However, Abia Warriors have injury concerns as the quartet of Jerry Ogu, Ugonna Felix, Goodluck Ozioma, and Chukwunalu Domingo are still on the treatment table.
