Abia Warriors get brand new 32-seater coaster bus from Abia State Governor

The Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, has donated a 32-seater Coaster Bus to Abia Warriors Football Club of Umuahia, and he has assured the club of increased government support.

The Governor made the announcement during a reception ceremony he organized for the 2024 President Federation Cup runners-up at his country home in Nvosi. The event also featured cash gifts for the team from the State Government and the Dr. Alex Otti Foundation, among others.

In his address, Governor Otti congratulated the Chairman, Board, Management, and Players of Abia Warriors Football Club for reaching the finals of the President Federation Cup for the first time in the club's history. He promised that Abia Warriors would receive the bus next week.

The Abia State Chief Executive, who was visibly pleased, assured that other needs of the club would be addressed gradually.

Earlier, the Abia State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Sir Nwaobilor Ananaba, reserved special commendation for the Chairman of Abia Warriors, Coach John Obuh, for the progress made by the club, and also commended the Executive Governor for his immense support for the team.

Former Nigeria's Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Azubuike Onyeabo Ihejirika (Rtd.), who was a special guest during the ceremony, commended the club for their President Federation Cup achievement and pledged a substantial cash gift to the Warriors.

Another special guest, Senator Darlington Nwokocha, congratulated the Warriors and pledged a generous cash gift to the team.

Also contributing was former Senatorial aspirant Chief Chinedu Onyizu, who pledged a cash gift.

On his part, the Chairman of Abia Warriors Football Club, on behalf of the Board, Management, and Staff, expressed profound gratitude to the Governor of Abia State for his immense support and assured him of better performance in the next season.

The Chief Coach of Abia Warriors, Coach Bethel Oji, who guided the Warriors to their President Federation Cup achievement, was full of gratitude to the Governor for his support, especially during challenging times.

The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of a medal and Abia Warriors replica jerseys to the Governor by Coach John Obuh and the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Sir Nwaobilor Ananaba.

The ceremony was also attended by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Kenneth Kalu; members of the State Executive Council; Deputy Chief of Staff; Special Adviser to the Governor on Sports, Hon. Chinedum Ekeke; SSA to the Governor on Legal Affairs, Cleopatra Nkolika Ubani; among others.
