2023/2024 NPFL Match Day 36: Abia Warriors' coach, Bethel Oji, commends team's tactical approach against Gombe United

Bethel Oji of Abia Warriors has praised his players for following instructions against Gombe United in a Matchday 36 encounter of the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL.


A brace from Obi Samson and the first league goal for second-half substitute Antoine Desouza earned Abia Warriors the maximum points in the match held at Pantami Stadium, Gombe.


According to him, the players were able to overcome fatigue following a poor performance in their last game against Bendel Insurance, which ended in a draw.


"It was a great performance from the players. I thank them for executing the instructions we gave them.


"Every game requires a different approach. When we played against Bendel Insurance, the pitch was very slippery due to heavy rain. We managed to shake off the fatigue and secure the victory."


Next up for the Pride of Abia is a Matchday 37 encounter against Akwa United Football Club of Uyo, in Umuahia on June 16, 2024.
