2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 23: Abia Warriors coach anticipates tough duel against wounded Sunshine Stars

As the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 23 fixture between Abia Warriors and Sunshine Stars approaches, Umu Chineke has intensified preparations ahead of the clash on Sunday.


On paper, pundits and league followers have predicted a possible victory for the home side, given the precarious position Sunshine Stars find themselves in on the league table at the moment.


The visitors are 17th on the league table with 24 points, while Abia Warriors are 5th with 33 points.


However, despite his optimism about a possible victory for the hosts, Abia Warriors' head coach, Imama Amapakabo, believes that the game will be a tough one.


Amapakabo said: "Most importantly, we have to believe in ourselves. We have had a couple of wins, and I think everybody is eager to go.


"Everybody believes that it is possible for us to secure victory on Sunday. We know it's going to be a difficult game, no doubt. Whenever we play against teams that are struggling at the moment, we know it's going to be tough.


"They’re going to come and give it their all, so we have to do the same to secure victory," Imama said.


The former Nigeria U-23 Head Coach emphasized that his team will not underestimate their opponents but will give their all during the game.
