Olukismet Football Club began their campaign in the 2024 NLO season with a resounding victory, defeating Agbana Wonderful Academy 4-1. The match took place at the Akure Township Stadium on Saturday. The pulsating game was full of grit, passion, athleticism, and determination from both sides.
However, it was Agbana Wonderful Academy who drew first blood in the second minute of the encounter, with Jibola beating the offside trap to put his team in front. The lead didn't last long as Ajayi Joshua restored parity for the Ikere-Ekiti based side in the 12th minute. Both teams showed attacking intent, but missed several chances as the first half ended with the scoreline at 1-1.
After the restart of the second half, it didn't take long for Olukismet FC to score their second goal, as Ridwan Abdulrasaq found the net in the 48th minute to put his team ahead. Despite Agbana Wonderful Academy's determination to push for an equalizer, Olukismet FC held firm defensively.
In the 73rd minute, Ridwan Abdulrasaq scored his brace with a fine finish to extend their lead, and Akindoyo Benjamin sealed the victory for Olukismet FC with a goal in the 86th minute. Despite Agbana Wonderful Academy's efforts to reduce the deficit, Olukismet FC's defense remained resolute, leaving the final score at 4-1 and securing maximum 3 points.
The head coach of Olukismet FC, Oladeji Atobaje, praised his players for their hard work, great performance, and resilience in coming from behind to seal the victory. He noted that the team is well-stabilized but charged his players not to relent, emphasizing that the job is not yet completed.
Olukismet FC will face Able God FC in their second group game of the season. Ikere-Ekiti based sides were grouped alongside Adamimogo FC, Osopadec FC, Choice FC, Able God FC, and Emmalex FC in the Akure Center of the 2024 NLO season.
