'A top striker' - Ex-Millwall star says about Victor Boniface
Posted : 20 April 2023
Victor Boniface, according to former Millwall player Bob Peeters, is a superior striker to Deniz Undav of Brighton & Hove.
Last summer, Royale Union Saint-Gilloise bought Boniface from the Norwegian team Bodo/Glimt to fill Undav's spot when he was traded to Brighton & Hove for a club-record seven million euros.
With a price tag of at least ten million euros, Boniface, who originally paid two million euros to join Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, might become the most expensive player ever to leave the Jupiler Pro League club if he leaves as anticipated in the summer.
Although clubs in England, Germany, France, and Spain are showing interest in the 22-year-old, no formal offer has been made for his services.
In his forty-three club appearances since joining Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, Boniface has contributed to 24 goals (15 goals, 9 assists), and he shares the Europa League scoring lead with Marcus Rashford of Manchester United with six goals.
"He is going to break all records. With Boniface, Union brought in a better striker than Undav," according to Peeters, who spoke to Play 6 through Voetbalnieuws.
"He has strength, speed, technique, scoring ability. A top striker. The sky is the limit for him."
In the quarterfinals of the Europa League on Thursday, Royale Union Saint-Gilloise will play Bayer Leverkusen, and Boniface can further establish himself in the store window with another strong performance.
