Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta closely observed the talented box-to-box midfielder of Nigerian heritage, Andre Annous, as his team prepared for the upcoming Premier League clash against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
According to Arsenal's youth team expert Jeorge Bird, Andre Annous participated in training with the Arsenal first-team squad on Tuesday.
With thirteen first-team players unavailable due to international duties, it is speculated that the Spanish coach invited the promising teenager to first-team training to bolster the squad numbers.
At just 16 years old, Annous, hailing from a highly regarded Nigerian family, is in his final season as a schoolboy.
He is among the trio of players of Nigerian descent offered scholarship contracts for the next season, alongside goalkeeper Owen Asemota and center forward Chidozie Obi-Martin.
Primarily operating as a box-to-box midfielder, Annous also demonstrates versatility, capable of playing as a winger or striker.
He made his competitive debut for Arsenal U18s last month, appearing as a substitute in the closing minutes of a 2-2 draw against Southampton in the U18 Premier League.
During the international break, Ovie Ejeheri and Nathan Butler-Oyedeji, both invited to the 2023 Flying Eagles, also trained with Arsenal's first team and featured in a friendly match against Queens Park Rangers.
