Usman Abdallah, the Technical Adviser of Kano Pillars, has blamed fatigue for their inability to secure a win in their 1-1 away draw against Bayelsa United in Yenagoa during the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 2 fixtures.
The Match Day 2 encounter of the NPFL took place today at the Samson Siasia Stadium.
Auwalu Ali Malam put Pillars ahead in the 41st minute; however, Rabiu Abdullahi equalized for the hosts in the 59th minute, resulting in a share of the spoils at the end of the match.
Abdallah attributed his team’s failure to secure victory to the nearly 48-hour journey they made from Kano to Yenagoa.
“I think the boys did well, despite the fact that we were tired from traveling, as we had a journey of almost two days.
"We arrived in Yenagoa less than 12 hours before the game, late yesterday.
"The players were tired towards the end of the match, but getting this one point is at least a good start,” said Abdallah.
The draw pushes Pillars into 2nd place in the NPFL standings with 4 points, while Bayelsa occupies 17th position with 1 point.
Pillars will host leaders Remo Stars in their next match on Sept. 22 at their adopted home ground, Muhammad Dikko Stadium in Katsina.
