2nd edition of Dr. Ibrahim Galadima Soccer competition gets global attention, says organisers

As the second edition of the Dr. Galadima Cup is around the corner, a total of 16 teams will be competing for the trophy of the Galadima soccer competition.

The draw for the competition hold today, Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2023, at Engineer Sulaiman Musa's office.

Galadima Cup will be streaming live in an abridged format of four groups of the 16 teams, as it is scheduled to start on September 2nd, 2023, at Kano Pillars Stadium in Sabon Gari, Kano State.

Before the draw, a seminar was organised for the coaches of the teams in order to know the rules and regulations of the competition accordingly.

Dr Ibrahim Galadima, who was represented by the former chairman of Kano Pillars, Alhaji Abba Galadima, said it's a welcome development in the history of football in Nigeria and said even the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and professional leagues didn't organise such exposure.

He said they are grateful to Engineer Sulaiman Musa for the kind gesture.

On his part, the organiser of the competition, Engineer Sulaiman Musa, said the competition will be taking place annually, and this year's edition will have a slight difference with little modifications from last year's edition.

The opening match will be played on September 2, 2023, at Kano Pillars Stadium, Sabon Gari Kano, between FC Sabon Gari and Kwankwasiyya FC.
